Divine Master's Message (December 11, 1973): Live by Righteousness, Honor Discipline, and Remain Faithful

Filling the Heart with Goodness

In his message delivered on December 11, 1973, at the PBMA Main Office in San Jose, Dinagat Islands, Divine Master Ruben E. Ecleo, Sr. encouraged believers to make the teachings they receive a permanent part of their hearts and minds.

He explained that merely hearing good words is not enough. True spiritual growth comes when righteous teachings are remembered, practiced, and reflected in daily life. Believers are called to reject harmful thoughts, avoid improper speech, and cultivate thoughts that promote goodness, peace, and righteousness.

Learn from History and Live with Wisdom

The Divine Master reflected on biblical history, including the account of Noah, to illustrate that God's works and the events of history provide lessons for future generations.

He reminded the brethren that history offers guidance for those willing to learn from it. Although circumstances may change, the principles of truth, obedience, and righteousness remain constant. Those who understand these lessons are better prepared to fulfill their responsibilities faithfully.

Obedience to Law Brings Order

A central theme of the discourse is the importance of respecting both the Association's Constitution and By-Laws and the principles established for the orderly life of the community.

The Divine Master taught that discipline and obedience are essential for the progress of the mission. When members faithfully observe the rules and responsibilities entrusted to them, the Association becomes stronger, more united, and better prepared to fulfill its purpose.

He emphasized that lasting improvement begins with every individual choosing to live according to righteous principles.

Blessings Carry Responsibility

In the second part of the message, delivered during the blessing of newly trained medical workers, the Divine Master reminded those receiving responsibilities that every blessing is accompanied by accountability.

He explained that the gifts, responsibilities, and opportunities entrusted to members should never be neglected. They are to be cared for with sincerity, gratitude, and faithful service, recognizing that every blessing ultimately comes from God.

Avoid Wrongdoing and Remain Vigilant

The Divine Master repeatedly urged the brethren to remain watchful over their lives and avoid actions that lead to wrongdoing.

He reminded them that neglecting their responsibilities or disregarding the teachings would eventually bring regret. Instead, believers should continually examine themselves, correct their mistakes, and strive to live according to God's guidance before repentance becomes a response to missed opportunities.

The message calls for constant vigilance, faithful stewardship, and personal responsibility.

Faithful Service Requires Preparation

Addressing those preparing for ministry and service, the Divine Master encouraged them to complete their training with dedication and seriousness.

He reminded them that preparation is not merely about acquiring knowledge but about developing the character, discipline, and commitment necessary to serve others faithfully.

Every responsibility within the mission should be accepted with humility and carried out with wholehearted devotion.

The central message of this discourse is that God's teachings should be treasured in both heart and mind, discipline should guide every action, and every blessing carries a responsibility to serve faithfully. Divine Master Ruben E. Ecleo, Sr. encouraged believers to learn from history, obey righteous principles, avoid wrongdoing, and faithfully fulfill the responsibilities entrusted to them, knowing that sincere obedience and steadfast service strengthen both individual character and the mission as a whole.
