Divine Master's Message (November 10, 1985): Remain Faithful, Be Prepared, and Continue the Mission

A Call to Faithfulness and Readiness

During his visit to the PBMA Balagtas Sub-Chapter in Balagtas, Bulacan on November 10, 1985, Divine Master Ruben E. Ecleo, Sr. delivered a message centered on faithfulness, obedience, spiritual preparedness, and dedication to the mission.

He expressed gratitude for the warm welcome and reminded the brethren that every missionary carries a sacred responsibility. He emphasized that those engaged in the mission should remain watchful in their conduct, recognizing that their actions are always known within the spiritual work.

Many Are Called, But Few Are Chosen

Drawing from the theme, "Many are called, but few are chosen," the Divine Master explained that being called into the mission is only the beginning. What truly matters is remaining worthy through faithful service.

He reminded the members that not everyone who joins the mission will ultimately be chosen. Those who disregard the Association's laws, neglect their responsibilities, or commit wrongdoing place themselves at risk of losing the privilege of being among the faithful.

The message encourages every believer to remain obedient, loyal, and sincere in fulfilling their spiritual responsibilities.

A Shepherd's Concern for His People

The Divine Master spoke with deep compassion about the responsibility he had carried for many years. Although many people saw only his public work, he explained that the burdens of leadership had continually grown heavier.

He expressed his concern for every member, explaining that his greatest desire was for everyone to remain spiritually prepared. Rather than speaking out of fear, he urged the brethren to examine their thoughts, actions, and commitment so they would be ready for what lies ahead.

His message reflects the heart of a leader who desires the spiritual welfare of those entrusted to his care.

Prepare Your Mind, Your Life, and Your Mission

One of the strongest appeals in the discourse was the call for preparation.

The Divine Master encouraged every missionary to prepare:

  • Their thoughts through spiritual discipline.

  • Their actions through faithful obedience.

  • Their mission through careful planning and dedicated service.

He emphasized that preparation should begin now rather than waiting for future events.

Stand Firm in Your Convictions

The Divine Master reminded the members not to be influenced by those who follow their own personal desires instead of the principles of the Association.

He encouraged believers to develop unwavering conviction—remaining steadfast in faith, loyal to the mission, and committed to living according to the teachings entrusted to them.

A firm spiritual foundation, he taught, enables believers to remain faithful despite changing circumstances.

Spiritual Growth Brings Different Outcomes

The discourse also speaks of a future time when individuals will be distinguished according to their spiritual lives and faithfulness.

Using the illustration of four levels—bad, good, better, and best—the Divine Master emphasized that outward appearances, titles, or possessions alone are not what matter. Instead, a person's conduct, obedience, and faithfulness determine spiritual progress.

The message encourages believers to strive continually for spiritual growth rather than becoming satisfied with external recognition.

The central message of this discourse is a call to remain faithful, live according to the principles of the mission, prepare spiritually, and serve with sincerity. Divine Master Ruben E. Ecleo, Sr. reminded the brethren that true discipleship is demonstrated through obedience, humility, steadfast conviction, and wholehearted dedication to God's work. He encouraged every missionary to prepare their hearts, minds, and lives so they may remain worthy in fulfilling the mission entrusted to them.
